Shape up, baby.

Since my discovery of Pinterest, yeah I'm now a junkie, I found someone's "inspiration" board. There is photos of fit women and quotes that give motivation and encouragement.

And I'd like to lose 5 pounds.

With my freshly-found motivation still in my brain, I found myself in WalMart. With a list a mile long (from weeks of putting it off - I dread WalMart trips). Yogurt was an item to get and when I got there I found a multi pack with "Lose 5 Pounds In 2 Weeks!" on the box. Although skeptical of the ad, I thought... PERECT!

The directions said to replace breakfast and lunch with a light yogurt, a grain (like Cheerios) and a fruit. So I went to find grains and fruit. With a diet rich in lean protein and nonfat dairy, have a sensible dinner, beverages and snacks. And walk 30-40 minutes a day. Doable.

What I'll be eating:

My loot of yogurt.

My grains. I love Cracklin' Oat Bran.

Fuit before.

Fuit after.
I'm actually really excited about this! I love yogurt. I've always wanted to get into granola (maybe I'll learn to make my own next) and I love, love, LOVE fruit! This gives me a great excuse to buy it even though its more expensive than the yummy bag o' chips. Maybe I can shape up and lose some pounds and get into a walking routine with Tag. We'll see how it goes!

Hello Erica,

home made granola is so easy to make. All you need is nuts and honey. For the nuts you can use everthing you like though almonds are the most healthiest and peanuts are the worst. Hack the nuts into little pieces (I usually use a mixer thingy for it) and add a bit of honey. If you like add some dried fruit, though NO dried rasinis because when they are dried they produce some kind of unhealthy sugar. Really good for you are dried cranberries. Put that mixture on a piece of backing paper and put it in the oven. Usually it takes 15-25 minutes depending on the temperature. You should stay close to it and try to turn it over a bit once in a while because nothing tasted worse than burned nuts. Let it become cold and put it into tupperware so that it stays fresh for a while. I usually make it once a week or every second week because we practically live on it. For yogurt: try to stay away from everything artifically flavored. Use the natural type and add your own fruit.

My fiancé's dad is one of Europes best known fertility specialists and he gets women pregnant by eating properly before adding other methods as well. He's been quite successful in that and he's currently translating his book "Spis dig gravid" (Eat yourself pregnant) into English. Basically eat lost of fruit, milk products, MEAT!!!, and veggies and stay away from "bad" things like pasta, bread, and POTATOES (yes, I hate it myself) :( So unfortunately you can see that the kind of grain you are using is not good at all. Even your (and my) beloved Cheerios. They are the devil :(

By eating that way you will not only become super fertile but also become slimmer (lost quite a few pounds without even planning on it).

Love from Denmark,
Sarah

Thanks for that, Sarah! That is super helpful because I have no idea what is/is not good for us. Thanks!
